The Judge BL15R offers the classic mid 1960's American sound with modern tweaks. Like other Judge amps, this has been modified for reliability, lower noise floor, more punch and bottom end, and tighter transition into overdrive. Very pedal friendly and smooth when overdriven. This circuit differs from other American voiced amps in that the focus is less on pushing the output tubes, keeping it a bit more mellow. From crystal-clear cleans to gritty tight overdrive with the added ambience of wet reverb and and the best sounding bias wiggle tremolo. Whether recording in the studio, practicing at home, or performing on stage, the BL15R delivers the timeless American tone. Available with 10" or 12" Celestion for a more balanced mid forward tone or with the clean American voice mid scooped sound of the Weber F series.
Techie stuff:
Like all JUDGE amps, the BL15R uses an efficient and clean power supply inspired by the work of Merlin Blencowe. This includes removing AC line noise, large filtering, multi-step bias supply filtering, and elevated heaters. All of these features create a very low noise environment allowing your guitar tone to come through without possible phasing out of frequencies due to unwanted noise from entering the circuit.
The BL15R uses custom Pacific transformers, Vishay, F&T, and Sprague capacitors, low noise/quiet/accurate military spec metal film resistors, and large gauge PreBond wire. Speaker wire is large gauge made by Beldon.
