The BL25 is an improved and stripped down version of mid-1960's black panel style American tone. With its 25 watts of power, it's a great club and rehearsal amp and can be mic-ed up for larger venues. This amplifier produces a smooth and dynamic sound characterized by sparkling cleans. BUT unique to the Judge BL lineup, you can achieve a warm scooped midrange when the mid is turned down and a dirtier, flatter, more mid frequency forward sound when the mid control is turned up. The BL line has a touch of fat tube-driven breakup when pushed. The built-in tube driven reverb adds depth and character, providing lush ambiance, from a little to a lot. The Master Volume control allows you to find your perfect tone and adjust the output as needed )or the sound guy demands!)
Techie stuff:
Like all JUDGE amps, the BL25 uses an efficient and clean power supply inspired by the work of Merlin Blencowe. This includes removing AC line noise, large filtering, multi-step bias supply filtering, and elevated heaters. All of these features create a very low noise environment allowing your guitar tone to come through without possible phasing out of frequencies due to unwanted noise from entering the circuit.
The BL25 uses custom Pacific transformers, Vishay, F&T, and Sprague capacitors, low noise/quiet/accurate military spec metal film resistors, and large gauge PreBond wire. Speaker wire is large gauge made by Beldon.
