Our goal is to make amps that will last generations, are easy to repair, are based on decades old proven circuits but with many tweaks for the modern artist.
JUDGE amps are a tool to allow you to be as creative as possible at an honest price.
Our amps are hand-wired with meticulous attention taken when choosing components and layout. We will never use a cheap part! They feature an extremely quiet power supply with lots of filtering so you never miss a note.

Our Preferred Components
Transformers
Arguably the most important (and most expensive) component in a tube amp. We source our transformers from reputable builders with decades of proven performance. We normally use Pacific (same as Mesa, Trainwreck, etc.) or Hammond (high end Canadian company.)
Capacitors
This is where some companies try to save a few dollars. We think the sum of all capacitors in a circuit makes a noticeable sonic improvement. We use F&T, Sprague, Panasonic, or other premium electrolytic types. For coupling, tone stack, and signal, we use Vishay or new old stock American made parts (when we can get them!) We currently have a decent supply of NOS Sprague Orange and Acushnet caps made in the USA that we think sound great.
Resistors
We insist on accurate, quiet, and reliable resistors. We do not believe in the mojo of old carbon comp types. They are inconsistent and noisy. Sometimes one may be off spec enough that players like how it sounds, but it's not repeatable. We use US military spec lightweight metal film made by Vishay or Dale. Many of these resistors are still made in the USA.
